rick owen’s released his new book ‘more rick owens’ by danielle levitt. to celebrate this occasion rick owens and michelle lamy, together with sabukaru and gata held a rave party in shin-kiba, tokyo. i was there to capture the soul of the event. combining my signature blurry photography style with the set up venue, allows for a interesting view on the happening.

Mugen Creations branches out to create an e-learning platform. the idea and basic structure has been created, yet a fitting design language is missing. we were tasked to help out. i created a logo as well as the design for the website. while focusing mainly on the design i also supported the development of the website and platform, which are both implemented within bubble.io. the logo draws reference to student’s graduation caps, stating the clear learning intent of the platform. for this project a modern, yet not overly playful design was in order, swaying from the usual japanese style website. i achieved this with using a lot of transparency, clear structures and illustrations interacting with each other. the website presents itself in a playful way, inviting the visitor to explore and join the platform. mixing this with a simple, modern design the website doesn’t overload its visitors with information while still providing everything needed. the actual platform provides users and admins with a helpful dashboard, allowing for access to more detailed information. every elements design is coherent throughout any page or role, making it easy to onboard and understand.

a video worthy of the stylish german hip hop artist 'ufo 361' created the need of a well styled cast as well. for this project production company IXN tapped ART—WORK to help out with the styling of the cast. naturally i was happy to help out as fashion is my main industry. additionally they asked me to shoot some bts footage as well to present some insights into the shoot. using my signature photography style, this project allowed for a great expressionistic view of this dance video.

klebe lichtideen

selling high-end interior and exterior lighting design, KLEBE Lichtideen was looking for a website that’s represents their unique and exclusive collection and offerings. they tasked me to create this new, modernized touch point with their customers. using big, bold images and fonts, the website clearly states what the visitor is in for: high-end customer service and products. for this project it was important to create a solution that provides a simple, understandable user experience, that still feels unique and differs from KLEBE Lichtideen’s competitors. i achieved this through displaying and separating each section as cards stacked on top of one another. this creates a unique, visual separation between the different sections of a single page, all the while each section’s content uses bold images and text clearly separating one block from another. this project was completed with the use of Webflow.

hanako, a producer of beauty products, needed a modern brand identity that was able to easily convey their values and heritage. this meant incorporating the japanese background of the company as well as the close relation to and focus on natural ingredients and japanese beauty rituals.‍ by using the iconic circle in the middle of the japanese flag as a main design element, the heritage is instantly recognizable.
